Lucky Daye is an alternative R&B Artist from New Orleans, his groundbreaking hits like “Misunderstood” and “Over” have put him on the map as an up-and-coming revolutionary artist. Beyond his killer vocals, his stage presence and overall set design transport the audience to an audio and visual experience that can be compared to a lucid dream.

1. Lucky Daye, “Soft,” Algorithm, 2024

The Lucky Daye concert opens with a black and white video close-up of the artist peering into the camera projected on the music hall screen as if he is giving the audience a wake-up call to prepare for the show’s commencement. An amplifying echo of an electric guitar is heard from the front to the back of the theater. A reverb  “WHOA” is heard throughout Radio City Music Hall. Following this, for a brief second, the entire venue was silent in eager anticipation of what was to follow. The bass drops and everything fades to black. As the artist enters the stage Lucky begins belting out the signature song “Soft” from his latest album Algorithm. 

2. Lucky Daye, “Extra,” Painted, 2019

In case you missed it in the last video, Lucky Daye’s style is fresh to death. He appears on stage sporting a white unbuttoned bedazzled jacket with a futuristic cut and pairs the jacket with pleated baggy pants. His accessories are also impressive, including the studded Western belt, the large linked Italian chain with a Gothic cross, and sunglasses. In this video, Daye performs the song “Extra” for his day one fans from his debut album Painted. Lucky then speaks to the crowd: “If you feel good about yourself make some noise,” he exclaims. Adding, “That’s what I want to see when I come to NY good vibes”  The song highlights Daye’s vocal range and falsetto. 

3. Lucky Daye, “NWA,” Candydrip, 2022

Lucky then transitioned into a crowd favorite from the album Candydrip with his hit song NWA a song about letting loose and having a good time. During this song, set lighting was more static, and hues of red were shown. The red represents fire Lyrics “Already know we be lit when we roll”  More dancing was seen to match the beat of the songs and the audience joined in unison with lots of jumping in a rock and roll way. Lucky is seen swinging his arms to hype up the crowd along with his towel that he throws somewhere to the sea of screaming fans.

4. Lucky Daye, “Roll Some Mo,’” Painted, 2019

During this mellow song, Lucky recovers from all the hype and dancing to play a slow song and serenade the stage with his guitar playing. The screen backdrop depicts flowing vegetation and a hue of butterflies. Alongside the lyrics Lucky transports us to a theatrical dreamland. 

In this heartfelt moment, Lucky Daye thanks the audience for their support during an instrumental breakdown filled with symphonic music: “I want to thank y’all from the bottom of my heart for real, it means the world to me that I have people in large stands like this. This is amazing! I don’t even understand but it’s all because of y’all”. 

5. Lucky Daye, “Floods,”  Painted, 2019

The song begins with Lucky Daye saying “I don’t mind being misunderstood I ain’t meant to be understood.” Setting the melancholy mood of the heartbreak anthem Lucky continues speaking on his own romantic experiences “ I want to congratulate whoever brought somebody with them on love, I don’t know that life so I just think it’s blissful and I’m a hopeless romantic. But I can imagine so I dedicate this to y’all. Violin instrumentals begin to start as Lucky Harmizes freestyle with the music. The song begins in contrast to most with a piano accompaniment during this heartfelt ballad.

6. Lucky Daye, “Misunderstood”, Painted, 2019

During the song, Misunderstood from the album Painted Lucky continues to serenade the audience by singing on a stool that was placed center stage. A spotlight with ethereal cutouts surrounds Daye while he performs this heartbreak anthem. 

7. Lucky Daye, “Over,” Candydrip, 2022

This song is a top hit from its widely remembered music video featuring Keeping Up With The Kardashians Hollywood star Jordan Woods who plays Lucky Daye’s love interest in the music video. When performing the Song Over the Lights appeared completely blue, as it is a heartbreak song.  Daye, belts his tune while cruising shirtless across the stage.
